Gita Jayanti - 20th Dec

The main day of Gita Jayanti was on 20th Dec. The day started at the ashram with the visit of an elephant. The mahatmas fed him with some fruit prasad, and then started the Gita Chanting in the renovated Satsang Hall. Select chapters were chanted because some was in its finishing phase. Later in the evening Poojya Guruji gave the main concluding discourse at the Agrasen Dham program.

Gita Jayanti at Footi Kothi

On 18th Dec the talk at the Agrasen Dham (Footi Kothi) was by Swamini Samatanandaji. She spoke on the shloka of 18th chapter of Gita, namely swakarmana tam abhyarchya..

जीवन की प्रत्येक परिस्थिति प्रभु का प्रसाद है |

इन्दौर के पश्चिमी क्षेत्र में स्थित फूटि कोठी के अग्रसेन धाम में आज 17 दिसम्बर को गीता जयन्ति महोत्सव का शुभारम्भ सुदामा नगर स्थित वेदान्त आश्रम के संस्थापक स्वामी श्री आत्मानन्दजी महाराज के वरद हस्त से दीप प्रज्वलन के साथ हुआ |

इस गीता जयन्ति महोत्सव का शुभारम्भ करते हुए स्वामी श्री आत्मानन्दजी महाराज ने गीता को अत्यन्त महान ग्रन्थ बताया | प्रत्येक वर्ष गीता जयन्ति मनाई जाती है, क्योंकि जीवन रूपी धर्मक्षेत्र में इस सन्देश को धारण करना अनिवार्य है | श्रीमद भगवत् गीता कोई शब्द मात्र नही है, किन्तु परमात्मा का मानो ह्रदय ही है | ऐसी बहुमूल्य गीता को भगवान ने अर्जुन पर करुणा से प्रेरित होकर प्रदान की | अर्जुन भगवान का भक्त और सखा भी है | ऐसी गीता कर्म के क्षेत्र को धर्म का क्षेत्र बनाते हुए जीने की कला सिखाती है | यदि गीता को समझना हो तो अर्जुन की पीडा और समस्या को महसूस करना चाहिये | तदुपरान्त अर्जुन जैसी शरणागति प्राप्त हो | शरणागति का अर्थ है, जीवन मे जो कुछ भी प्राप्त होता है, वह सब कुछ प्रभु का प्रसाद है | यह प्रसाद चाहे मीठा हो या कडवा | जैसे मन्दिर मे जाकर आरती के उपरान्त प्रसाद ग्रहण किय जाता है, उसमे किसी प्रकार का ननु-नच नही होता, किन्तु प्रसन्नतापूर्वक धन्यता के साथ ग्रहण किय जाता है | वैसे ही जीवन की प्रत्येक परिस्थिति को प्रभु का प्रसाद समझ कर ही ग्रहण करें | साथ ही अपने धर्म का पालन भी प्रभु की आज्ञा समझ कर पालन करें | धर्म का पालन करने के समय किसी प्रकार के मोह को व्यवधान न बनने दे | प्रसाद बुद्धि से ही सब प्रकार का कल्याण होता है तथा मन की शान्ति एवं प्रसन्नता होती है | यदि जीवन मे गीता के समस्त उपदेश का एक मात्र बिन्दु प्रसाद बुद्धि को ग्रहण कर लिया जाय तो भी जीवन मे कल्याण ही कल्याण है |

अन्त में स्वामिनि अमितानन्दजी ने प्रसादबुद्धि को जीवन मे उतारने के लिये भक्ति की अनिवार्यता बताई |

इस कार्यक्रम में विशाल सन्ख्या में भक्त लोगो ने श्रवण लाभ लिया | कार्यक्रम के आरम्भ मे कार्यक्रम समिति के अध्यक्ष श्री ओमप्रकाश अग्रवाल (सेठजी), श्री मुरारिलाल गुप्ता, श्री किसनलाल एरन आदि ने माल्यार्पण करते हुए पूज्य गुरुजी का भव्य स्वागत किया, फिर श्री राजाराम गुप्ता ने पूज्य गुरुजी का परिचय दिया | समिति के सदस्य श्री रमाकान्त तिवारी ने बताया कि अग्रसेन धाम मे यह दसवाँ गीता जयन्ति महोत्सव है| गीता जयन्ति महोत्सव का यह कार्यक्रम 17 से 26 दिसम्बर 07 तक रहेगा|

Gita Jayanti Programs

The five days Gita Jayanti Program was inaugurated by Poojya Guruji at Agrasen Dham (Footi Kothi) on 17th Dec at 5.00 PM. Poojya Guruji was warmly welcomed by various trustees and officials. Addressing a huge gathering of devotees, Poojya Guruji in his inspiring one hour discourse said that Gita is telling us the art of successful & happy living in this world. He said that one should forget about various sadhanas which are prescribed for sanyasis and take to the prescription of Lord Krishna. Swamini Amitanandaji also spoke on the occasion and explained about the 'Prasad Buddhi'.

Poojya Guruji's Birthday

On 15th Dec, the Birthday of Poojya Guruji was celebrated at the Vedanta Ashram. In the morning there was a special Rudrabhisheka, and in the evening there was a Bhandara by the devotees along with a Cultural Program. Various devotees brought various dishes prepared at their homes and in the end it became a grand feast.

In the Cultural Program, Mr Mohan Lala started the evening with few beautiful bhajans, then we had a beautiful Flute and Tabla Program by Sh Salil Date and his son Soham. Salil presented five numbers. We are giving links of the two presentations by him.

The first one is the famous bhajan, Ram Ratan Dhan Payo:



The second one is the famous song Jyot se jyot jalate chalo, Prem ki ganga bahate chalo:



Then we had the first public performance of Tabla play by Soham Date, son of Salil.

Ashram Programs: Angithi Dinner

At Vedanta Ashram we celebrated the advent of winters with a small Angithi Dinner accompanied by a basically Bhajan Antakshari. On 13th Dec, when we had few other guests at the ashram too, Mr & Mrs Mohan Lala from Mumbai and Ana, our guest student from Russia. We all sat around an Angithi, a fire-place and enjoyed, freshly prepared Jwar-ki-Roti and Baigan-ka-Bharta.
