Talk: Advaita Makaranda _ 2504
Today the discourse was on the second line of the 21st shloka. In this the revered author says that 'I, the Self, is like a mountain of Sphatika, which remains basically untouched and colorless inspite of the presence of various colors which get refracted in it by the colors of the evening sky.
The next Advaita Makaranda discourse will now be on 5th May.

Talk: Advaita Makaranda _ 2404
On 23rd was yet another unexpected break, and the pravachan resumed on 24th morning. These talks will now go on for two more days before another week long break, when Poojya Guruji goes to Ahmedabad for a Gita Gyana Yagna there.
Todays discourse was the continuation of the shloka and topic of the last talk, but was with few deeper and important insights. Poojya Guruji said that the seeing of something as mithya and our day to day vyavahara have a deep correlation. By branding something as mithya we just don't ignore something but need to explore deeper for its cause.

Talk: Advaita Makaranda _ 2204
After our usual Monday holiday, which is reserved for special Rudrabhisheka of Bhagwan Gangeshwar Mahadev, we again started the Advaita Makaranda classes this morning.
Todays discourse was on a part of the 21st shloka. In the first line of the shloka the author said that, "I am like an ocean of nectarine immortality, which has no destruction or any modification like that seen in the waves which are all over & in the ocean'. Poojya Guruji explained few of the facets of this profound & bold statement.

Talk: Advaita Makaranda _ 2004
Continuing the topic of yesterday, Poojya Guruji said that not only the statement regarding the relativity of Sakshi is right, but this applies to all the words used to point Brahman or Atma.
An educated sadhaka is one who is always aware of not only the limitations and exact role of every pointer used in every scripture, but overall knows the nature of bondage & liberation. Prayers by such a sadhaka are of a different class, like that of Pushpadantaji of Shiv Mahimna Stotra fame. He said that we need to thank God that he is beyond all words & comprehension, otherwise he too would have become perishable like any other object of the world.

Talk: Advaita Makaranda _ 1904
In the 20th shloka the author talks about the place, role and limitations of being a Sakshi. Being a Sakshi is not the ultimate state, but is a step and also a pointer for the Self which is one, non-dual, infinite consciousness.
Being a Sakshi is a relative state and it is also in the realm of duality, the division between the Seer and the Seen continues to exist. However, it is the objectivity associated with Sakshi-Bhava which helps us to inquire deeply about the truth of the Seer and the Seen and thus awaken to the state of non-duality. When there is nothing but the consciousness, then there is no seer-seen division. It is this awakening into the state of non-duality which is the objective of Sakshi-Bhava.
Today we saw some problems with Boxstr server, so we have embedded the Divshare player instead, for your online listening. However, you can download the file from either of the site, depending upon your convenience.

Talk: Advaita Makaranda _ 1804
After briefly summarizing yesterdays talk, Poojya Guruji went on to the next shloka. The 19th shloka was about re-asserting the fact the the entire diversity of sentient and insentient things need to be seen that all this is imposed on 'me', the pure infinite consciousness.

Talk: Advaita Makaranda _ 1704
Poojya Guruji continued with yesterdays shloka today also. He clarified that we should be aware that there are two distinct classes of Apaurusheya scriptures. One is Brahma Vidya and the other is Dharma Vidya, and Veda is pramana regarding both. Dharma fulfills itself when it leads us to the door of Brahma Vidya, so one should appreciate that terming the principles of Swarga and Moksha as a part of the big delusion and dream is basically to show the exact place and role of Dharma Shastra rather than negate them all together.

Talk: Advaita Makaranda _ 0304
The talk on the 9th shloka continues. In this talk Poojya Guruji discusses that lakshana of identifying Jiva-bhava which we need to remain conscious, and thus retain the vivek of Atma & Jivatma in & through our vyavahara. That lakshana is about having expectations. Jiva always has expectations while when we revel in Atma we have none.
