Discourses on 'Gita Chapter 7' given at Rishikesh

Poojya Guruji gave very enlightening discourses on the Seventh Chapter of Bhagwad Gita at Rishikesh Camp. The chapter is called Gyana-Vigyana Yoga, and deals with not only the right intellectual appreciation of God but also reveals the ways and means to awake to that subjective experience within.

We plan to make these talks available to our reader through our web site. These Hindi language talks are of 100 to 120 minutes duration each, and each talk is average around 28 MB in size. They can be downloaded and can be used and shared by anyone 'freely' - without altering the track. Vedanta Mission prohibits usage of any of these talks for any commercial purposes.

Rishikesh Camp

The Sadhana Camp at Arsha Vidya Peetha, Rishikesh, was conducted by Poojya Guruji and P.Swamini Amitanandaji from 18th to 24th June 2008. The weather was heavenly and the camp overall went off very nicely.

The subject matter of the discourses were, the 2nd Valli of the 2nd Chapter of Katha Upanishad, and the 7th Chapter of Gita. Apart from these there was a conducted Meditation on Peace of Mind, and chanting of Mahishasurmardini Stotram. Daily evening there was some special Cultural Program too. The camp concluded with Pada Puja and narration of the experiences of the camp by the delegates.

On the second last day a cultural program was organized, in which there was a small skit by two children, bhajans, poems and some jokes by the campers. We provide links to hear or download the jokes presentation.

Ashram Update

Daily Pravachans:

The first chapter of Vedanta Saar concluded on Sunday. This chapter was regarding the Anubandha Chatushtaya of Vedanta. These are the four points pertaining to a text. Its student (Adhikari), its subject-matter (Vishaya), the objective (Prayojana), and finally the Sambandha, the nature of relationship between subject-matter and the objective of the text. This was a very important section, which every student interested to study Vedanta must know.


Now there will be a ten days break, when Poojya Guruji and Swamini Amitanandaji go to Rishikesh for conducting a Sadhana Camp there. In the meantime the taped discourses of Poojya Guruji on Bhaja Govindam will be played everyday at the Ashram. The second chapter of Vedanta-Saar is likely to begin on 26th June.

Today on 15th June 2008, the discourse on Vedanta-Saar continued on the topic of Guru Upasadana (Approaching the Teacher), and then on What will the Guru do for such a student.

With this discourse the first chapter of Vedanta-Saar is completed. Now there will be a ten days break, and the next class will be on 26th June. Poojya Guruji and P.Swamini Amitanandaji will be going over to Rishikesh to conduct a Sadhana Camp over there.

UK Trip08_1st Fortnight

Its almost been a fortnight since P. Sw Samatanandaji has been in the UK. She has had a 3 days home satsang in London, a temple program at Wellingborough and attended a Bhajan program of a group of devotees at Luton. Various programs have been fixed up in other cities as well.

Today on 12th June 2008, Poojya Guruji first talked about Vishaya (the subject-matter) of Vedanta, and then started the topic of the third Anubandha, the Sambandha. Sambandha is the nature of relationship between the subject-matter and the objective. He stressed the profound importance to see the uniqueness of both these Anubandha's then alone a student gets properly disposed to take proper advantage of Vedantic studies.
